Enshittification still word of the year
The Guardian tells us ‘What many of us feel’: why ‘enshittification’ is Macquarie Dictionary’s word of the year:
In 2022, Doctorow coined the word “enshittification”, which has just been crowned Macquarie Dictionary’s word of the year. The dictionary defined the word as follows.
Enshittification describe pretty well the feeling I have about a lot of tech products. One where the ethics get thrown away in order to maximise the profit against customers and workers. Probably why I have lost excitement about almost every tech products.
