Ars Technica reports Users ditch Glassdoor, stunned by site adding real names without consent:

And one wonder why some executive would do something so stupid?

But in 2021, Glassdoor acquired Fishbowl, a professional networking app that integrated with Glassdoor last July. This acquisition meant that every Glassdoor user was automatically signed up for a Fishbowl account. And because Fishbowl requires users to verify their identities, Glassdoor’s terms of service changed to require all users to be verified.

I’m torn between them being stupid or being malicious. But sure thing the growth hack hits once again, and users are not the priority ; just their numbers. I encourage anyone to delete their account on the service. Make your safety hurt them.

And the poor privacy laws in the United State contribute to that kind of practice.
