Anti anti-repair tool

From 404 Media, DIY Tinkerer Invents MacBook Tool That Breaks Apple’s Repair Locks:

An independent repair shop in Germany has invented a tool that can break through anti-repair locks Apple has put on a specific sensor on the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

It’s just for a single sensor, but still. The sensor allegedly cost a few dollars, but Apple charge $1000 for the repair, and lock the parts. This tool allow independent repairs to be done.

It shows the game of cat and mouse is going. The major hurdle will be the abuse of unfit laws like the DMCA (or equivalent), laws that are used not to defend copyright but to attack freedoms, unleashed onto small repair shops with a horde of overpaid lawyer.1

This is why good laws are needed. To protect people.
